Aaron’s HTC DROID Incredible review

HTC Droid Incredible

What’s Good: Stunning AMOLED display, fast 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 8 GB of built-in storage (finally), and 8.0-megapixel camera.

What’s Bad
: Signal strength indicator is misleading; battery life is exceptionally poor.

Introduction

Incredible 1

When the Nexus One came to market, critics were quick to point out the flaws in the device.  As a result, media circles have continually wondered when a revamped Android device would hit the market that fixed the problems on the Nexus One.  Despite a few issues, I’m here to tell you that the HTC DROID Incredible is just that device.  Complete with the same processor and 3.7-inch AMOLED display, the Incredible ups the ante with Sense UI, an 8.0-megapixel camera, and an optical trackpad.  Though it addresses most of the concerns that the Nexus One was plagued with, is it incredible enough to justify the name?

NTT DoCoMo shows off automatic email generator for mobiles (video)

18 de May de 2010 Leave a comment

Demonstrated at the Wireless Technology Park 2010 exhibition last week, this automatic email generator from NTT DoCoMo promises to take just three words’ worth of input, whether spoken or typed in, and convert them into a fully fleshed out, anatomically correct email. An anthropomorphic genie creature serves as your guide on this journey into gimmick world, although some rather nice sophistication is also on the cards. The carrier’s rep informs us that the composition of the missive will be dependent on the sort of person that you are and your relationship to the recipient. Thus, an email from a teenager to his parents will read quite differently to one from an employee to her boss, even if both believe they’re writing to their draconian overlords. Check it out on video after the break.

WOW, soud promising! I hope it get’s support for more than the usual English!

Verizon to release 4G Android tablets in Q4, 4G phones in May 2011

While AT&T may be taking its time to move on to a 4G network, Verizon is taking the opposite approach.  The company has said on previous occasions that they plan to have their 4G LTE network lit up in 25-30 markets by Q4 of this year and recently stated that they will have devices to take advantage of that speedy new network shortly thereafter.  Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam has stated that Big Red won’t have any 4G-ready phones until May 2011, but that there will be up to five 4G phones available at that time.  It’s unclear who will manufacture those devices or what operating system(s) they will run, but given Verizon’s close relationship with Google and Android lately, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if at least one of these 4G phones was running the Android OS.

If you can’t wait until May 2011, McAdam went on to say that Verizon will be releasing tablets capable of using the new 4G network in Q4 of this year and that most of them would be Android-based.  Are you planning on picking up a new Android tablet or 4G phone to try out Verizon’s LTE network? Tell us below!

Ok, it’s official! Every Android lover American out there can get happy! I don’t live in America, but for what I’ve heard Verizon seems to be the biggest carrier around there right? So, it couldnt be better! Android tablets on the biggest carrier? Sonds like a piece of heaven to me 🙂

Using Amazon’s so-called Whispersync feature, Android users will find their purchases synchronized with other Kindle-enabled devices, including the Kindle itself, Apple iPhone OS devices, BlackBerry phones, PCs and Macs. The Kindle app will even remember where you left off and continue from that page, even if you pick up again on a different device. Amazon is offering a sneak peak at the service online, but the company did not offer more specific details about availability.
